Erika I enjoyed reading your blog entry as it was very informative. I think this is just the thing an up and coming artist who has not yet been signed to a label or even have management representation can use. Most often times these days the label and even some managers expect an artist to already have a strong following and or fan based established. For the independent artist it gives them a step by step of things they need to look at a consider in successfully preparing themselves for this industry. You did an excellent job of bullet pointing each topic and even color coding which I feel makes it an easy read and brings specific attention to the main points. My suggestions on taglines that can be used to increase your search optimization are as follows:

2)Marketing plans for the independent artist
3) Branding and marketing for the independent artist
I enjoyed reading your blog. Coming from a music background, I have seen the industry change before my eyes and over the years. No one would really share this type of information unless you were paying for it or someone you knew in the business brought you in. This blog is colorful and engaging. It was a great idea to put the video in the blog because helps to draw the reader in. The supply of definitions was a great add as well. I could also see that “marketing” must have been your keyword to help increase your status with the SEO. This article is a nice resource to help simplify the process for an independent artist. I even read the one comment on the post and they were correct. Most labels look for artists who already have a following and sales numbers to go along with it. The statistics have to be on point because it can be part of the artist’s portfolio when presenting it to a major if and when they are approached by one. I call it bargaining power for the independent artists. If they are making more independently, the label has to make the offer great and with lesser burdens. Otherwise, it’s best to stay independent. I really enjoyed the post. I do suggest posting on your Facebook to promote the article as well as your blog.
